I’m not going to debate the validity of astrology with anyone, because as with all matters related to spirituality and existence, I don’t hold any beliefs. As with all philosophical perspectives and opinions, my interest is just that: an interest. I have ideas, and am open to all possibilities, for the simple fact that science can neither prove nor disprove matters of spirituality, not now, and perhaps not ever.
What you are all failing to recognize is that I’m arguing for open-mindedness, especially when it comes to philosophy and spirituality, because to argue against ideas that don’t actually seek to PROVE anything just makes you an arrogant, insecure child who feels the need to prove themselves, even in the face of non-dogmatic ideas and principles. It’s crazy how people will claim absolute knowledge, especially through ONE perspective, be it theism, atheism, religion, science, what have you, about something as multifaceted and personal as spirituality, or as complex and huge as existence. Because honestly, philosophy and spirituality, at least the way I and many other people view them, while they may draw from each of those perspectives, are not always about external reality. They’re not about belief systems. It’s not about what you can prove on paper. It’s about inner reality, which is intangible and immeasurable.
What I’m trying to say, in simpler words, is that no one is trying to tell you that you’re wrong, sweethearts. You do you. I am simply an insatiably curious individual, and curiosity does not lend itself to closed-mindedness. And while I may think your closed-mindedness as counterproductive in terms of human evolution, that’s just one person’s opinion.
If I claimed that astrology could define everything, or anything, then that would be a different story. But for me.. my curiosities are too busy exploring possibilities to pull over and argue with belief systems.
this is your brain on astrology
Great insight from an atheist’s perspective on the flip side of things…trust!
