Surprise! Your $500 Smartphone was Just a Beta Test.

Here’s a gently humorous ad for the Nokia Lumia 900. My only gripe is that they spent a whole minute milking the “beta test” punchline and found zero time at all to toss in a few pithy lines about how this global experiment contributed to the Lumia 900’s objective awesomeness.

I guess that’s what the internet is for. Or maybe they plan to build on the joke to produce more beta test ads along the same vein that highlight the product’s merits. Maybe the next ad on the pipeline takes place in a magic factory where tiny elves hand-tailor phones while attentively watching users all over the world drop Androids in toilets, crack iPhone screen glass, and glare overbearingly at their BlackBerries while wistfully fingering the keyboard.
