BUILDing a different experence
I watched the BUILD Conference keynote today..and.. here are some highlights
Windows 8 is a re-visioning of what you thought you knew about desktop..and..device computing…from the ground up Windows 8 has been designed to:
- be secure..cannot even infect a computer in BIOs from a flash drive..
- extremely fast..
- lightweight (50-60% lighter then Windows 7)..
- totally upgradable..the keynote even showed a netbook with an atom intel processor..running 1gig of ram that was 2 years old running Windows 8..
- easier to develop applications for..and..you only have to develop applications once for all tablets (slates)..desktops..laptops..etc..
- touch computing is not just for devices..
- intergate naively global spell check..
- you know that ctrl+C..and..ctrl+V thing you do everyday..no more..all apps intergate naively copy..and..paste on highlight…for example..when you touch the share charm (an application icon)..it automatically pastes the information in the content box of the app you select..
Bottom Line: the new OS displays a new way to interact..and..access everything you do..experience all of your apps on everything
well if you know anything about me…you can guess what iThink…the “i” is ready for the fork (as in “put a fork in it..it’s done”)…:-)
